Lisa Stevens has been working at Blue Ridge Orthopaedic for almost 14 years. As a Patient Accounts Representative, she stays very busy reviewing and posting the charges for 21 providers at Blue Ridge Orthopaedic and a few other Greater Piedmont Medical Association (GPMA) practices. At work, she thrives on the “satisfaction of doing a job well,” she says. Outside of the office, Lisa likes to read, spend time with her family, and escape to their cabin in the mountains of West Virginia. Scroll down for the complete Q&A with Lisa.



Q: How long have you been working at Blue Ridge Orthopaedic?

A: Almost 14 years

Q: What is your job title?

A: Patient Accounts Representative Q: What does your job entail?

A: I review and post the charges for 21 providers at Blue Ridge Orthopaedic & Spine Center, Urological Associates of the Piedmont, Fauquier ENT Consultants, and Dominion Internal Medicine. And some follow up on Cigna, in my spare time.

Q: What do you like most about your job?

A: The satisfaction of doing a job well and I enjoy the employees I work with here.

Q: What is the best career lesson you’ve learned so far?

A: Every one is replaceable.

Q: What would you do (for a career) if you weren’t doing this?

A: I love reading, so perhaps some type of book editor. Q: What profession would you definitely NOT like to do?

A: There are so many, but politician is definitely at the top of the list! Q: What county do you live in?

A: Fauquier Q: What do you like best about your county?

A: Family is close.

Q: What is your favorite local business?

A: Claire’s for dinner and Chick-fil-a for breakfast/lunch. Marshalls for clothes shopping.

Q: What do you like to do when you aren’t working?

A: I read a LOT!


Q: Do you have any favorite authors?

I don’t discriminate. But, I love mysteries and thrillers the most; James Patterson, John Grisham, Steven King, J.D. Robb, Patricia Cornwell (her earlier books). Q: What’s a fun fact about you many people may not know?

A: I used to mountain bike. I even did a 24 hour race one time. Q: Where’s your favorite place in the world?

A: I love our cabin in West Virginia in the mountains. I also love Costa Rica! A wonderful place to be. Q: What is your motto or personal mantra?

A: Always do your best Q: If you could meet anyone in the world, dead or alive, who would it be and why?

A: Gandhi. Maybe I could learn something from him because couldn't we all use a little/lot of Zen/peace? Q: Three words to best describe you:

A: Loyal, dependable, tenacious

Q: What is the one thing you can’t live without?

A: Air and family. Everything else can be replaced.

Q: What is the most recent TV show you binge watched?

A: The Mandalorian (my husband loves the show) Q: What is the best movie of all time?

A: Apollo 13 Q: If you could have any superpower what would it be?

A: None that I can think of Q: What is one food that you cannot resist?

A: Chocolate Q: If you could snap your fingers and become an expert in something, what would it be?

A: Languages. I would love to be a linguist, who knows multiple languages. Q: What’s the best advice you were ever given?

A: Be true to yourself.

A: Dog Q: What advice would you give to your teenage self?

A: Start saving money now.
