Jennifer Falkenstein: Incredibly friendly medical assistant


Chances are, if you’ve met Jennifer Falkenstein, you know her as a thoughtful and caring person. In her role as Medical Assistant at Blue Ridge Orthopaedic, patients characterize her as “incredibly friendly.” Colleagues say she’s “always willing to jump in and help.” But, outside of work, what you might not know about Jennifer is her love of crime. Not a love for committing crime, of course, but for crime stories (specifically, true crime podcasts).

Q: How long have you been working at Blue Ridge Orthopaedic?

A little over three years


Q: What is your job title?

Medical Assistant


Q: What does your job entail?

Casting, splinting, staple and suture removal, wound care, pre-op and post-op care.


Q: What do you like most about your job?

The unknown. I learn something new almost everyday and we hear the craziest stories from patients regarding their injuries. Their stories never get old.


Q: What is the best career lesson you’ve learned so far?

To always be kind. Regardless of the situation, choose kindness.


Q: What would you do (for a career) if you weren’t doing this?

Crime Scene Investigator


Q: What county do you live in?

Frederick County, VA


Q: What do you like best about your county?

Its very small and secluded, everyone is very down to earth and live a very simple life.


Q: What is your favorite local business?

I love any little hippie shops on Main Street.


Q: What do you like to do when you aren’t working?

I love doing Yoga and love traveling with our camper and exploring new areas.


Q: What’s a fun fact about you many people may not know?

I’m addicted to true crime podcasts. I listen every chance I get. And I have a 3 legged cat.


Q: Where’s your favorite place in the world?

Inside our camper, regardless of where we are camping.

Be nice or be quiet.


Q: Are you a dog person or a cat person (or neither)?

I’d have to say I’m more of a bunny person. We just lost our 14-pound rabbit and I must say she was the best pet I had ever had.
