Miguel Pelton, MD

Dr. Pelton is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon who specializes in sports medicine.
Dr. Pelton treats people, from weekend warriors to elite athletes, whose active lifestyle has been disrupted due to an orthopedic condition or injury.
Along with his experience in a clinical setting, Dr. Pelton has served as team physician for the athletic programs of John Carroll University (University Heights, OH) and a number of high schools. He has written a long list of peer-reviewed journal articles, abstracts, and book chapters and is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine.
His medical education began at The College of William and Mary, where he graduated with a B.S. in Neuroscience. Dr. Pelton then earned his M.D. from the Georgetown University School of Medicine, followed by residency at the Medstar Georgetown University Hospital. He completed a fellowship in sports medicine at the Cleveland Clinic, among the nation’s top 20 hospitals for orthopedics and the #2 hospital overall in the nation as ranked by U.S. News & World Report.
Dr. Pelton is currently the team physician for the Gainesville Cardinals.
