A major remodel of our surgical center will improve patient access

As our community’s need for quality orthopedic services continues to grow, we are making significant changes to improve access to quality orthopedic services. For example, we have expanded our business hours, added practitioners, pioneered a concierge service for veterans, and made significant material investments.

Most recently, a remodel of the Surgical Center located at our Warrenton office will double the capacity of outpatient procedures we are able to perform. As a result, a greater number of people in our community can get the care they need on a more flexible schedule and with less wait time.

“A shortage of beds prevented us from making use of both operating rooms simultaneously. We now have a ratio of three pre-op and three pacu (post-anesthesia care unit) bays per OR,” says Director of Surgical Services Kimberly Parker, RN.

To handle the higher volume of patients, our perioperative team also identified the need to increase staffing.

“Patients can expect the same high quality care, with additional highly trained and experienced staff,” Parker says.

Our surgical center can accommodate many different minimally-invasive outpatient procedures such as knee and shoulder arthroscopies, carpal tunnel surgeries, fluoroscopic guided injections, and a multitude of other pain management services. It meets the highest standards of care and complies fully with the rigorous requirements of the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, Inc., a nationally-recognized credentialing agency.
